December in Dakar

Watching "Love Actually" and drinking hot cocoa in Dakar. :)
Blondies made by Maura. :)

Some shopping pictures above, at one of multiple Bazaars during the Holiday Season here in Senegal. Many are held at the International School of Dakar. One of my favorite places for dresses and scarves is Rama Diaw, based in St. Louis. Abracadabra has fantastic Vegetarian food--pictured above is a pineapple curry with rice and roasted pecans, carrot salad, and falafel.

This is what we do for fun...

Paint Night at a lovely Creperie on beach road. (Praïnha Crêperie Grill)
What do teachers do at the pool on the weekend? That's right, read books! :)
Samusocial is a great organization that is active in Senegal. The children performed at the annual gala and it was lovely. More info can be found here.
Simone Cafe snacks are essential. (Mermoz, right behind the Caesar's roundabout) Great artichoke empanadas available. (fabulous vegetarian option, includes a lovely salad for 2,000cfa)
Nothing like Simone Cafe visits with friends. :) ATL to DKR.
